ELECTRICAL SYNOPTIC PAGE ON MFD

ELECTRICAL SYNOPTIC PAGE ON MFD

The electrical synoptic page provides a visual representation of the electrical system   operation and parameters, and can be selected for viewing by the flight crew on either MFD.  As the title implies, it depicts the electric system that generates and supplies alternating current (AC) power. Virtually all transport category turbojet aircraft have AC-based electrical systems meaning they use generators mounted to the engine accessory gearboxes to create AC power. DC power then is normally made by supplying AC to multiple transformer-rectifier units (TRUs). The TRUs transform the supplied 115 volt AC power to DC and rectify it down to 28 volts, which is then supplied to the DC buses from which electrical consumers using DC power draw. In this way, both AC buses and DC buses are adequately supplied with ample power.
