1. IDG (Integrated Drive Generator)
The IDG icon and its outputs (voltage/frequency/amperage) are always displayed, even when readings are zero. If an output is invalid or out of range, the digits are replaced by the amperage
GREEN: IDG available and IDG knob is selected in auto position,
WHITE: IDG available and IDG selector knob in off position or engine is not running,
AMBER DASHED: invalid information.
2. AC External Power (AC GPU)
APU GPU ICON:-
GREEN: AC GPU connected and GPU button is pushed in,
WHITE: AC GPU connected and GPU button is pushed out,
AMBER DASHED: Invalid information.
AC GPU parameters:-
GREEN: AC GPU is available and information is valid,
AMBERDASHED: information is invalid.
3. APU
Auxiliary Power Unit (referred to as APU), A small turbine engine capable of providing compressed air to the bleed air system and AC electrical power to the electrical system. The Auxiliary power unit is most often used while parked on the ground to:-
· Provide a sufficient volume of pressurized air to the bleed air supply system which makes it possible to operate both air conditioning packs.
· Provide 40Kva AC electric power to the aircraft, enough to fully power the entire electrical system.
The auxiliary power unit can also be used in flight for electrical power should the airplane be dispatched with an engine-driven generator know to be inoperative.
APU icons
NOTE: Whenever EICAS caution messages APU FAIL is displayed the APU icon will be white beneath an amber cross.
APU parameters:
GREEN: For valid information,
AMBER DASHED: For invalid information or a value out of range.
4. Electrical Buses
The electrical bus icons are always displayed.
BUS icons:
GREEN: energized bus,
WHITE: de-energized,
AMBER DASHED: Invalid information.
5. TRU (TRANFORMER RECTIFIER UNIT)
The TRU icons and outputs (voltage/amperage) are always displayed.
TRU Icons:
GREEN: TRU available and the associate toggle switch in AUTO position,
WHITE: TRU available and the associate toggle switch in OFF position,
AMBER DASHED: Invalid information.
TRUE PARAMETER:
GREEN: For valid information,
AMBER DASHED: For invalid information or a value out of the valid Range.
6. BATTERY
BATTERY icons:
GREEN: voltages are greater than 18 volts.
WHITE: voltages are less than 18 voltages.
AMBER DASHED: Invalid information and value out of the valid Range
GREEN: for valid information
AMBER DASHED: for invalid information.
7. DC EXTERNAL POWER (DC GPU)
DC icons:
GREEN: DC GPU connected and available,
AMBER DASHED: for invalid information.
NOTE: A white in USE indication is displayed, centered above the DC GPU icon. Whenever the DC GPU providing power.
8. Electrical Flow Line
Flow line icons illustrate voltage sensing.
FLOW LINE icons:
GREEN: Voltage is sensed,
WHITE: Voltage is not sensed,
AMBER DASHED: For invalid information.
9. RAT (Ram Air Turbines)
RAT icons:
GREEN: RAT is deployed and operating,
AMBER DASHED: invalid information,
RAT PARAMETERS:
GREEN: for valid information,
AMBER DASHED: for valid information or a value out of the valid Range.
